Creative business owners are often so focused on the creative aspect of developing, growing and running their businesses, they sometimes forget that they are running a business and find themselves at a loss when it comes to making the "right" business decisions. This has become even more difficult with the economy mired in its worst slowdown since the Great Depression and the flurry of stimulus and tax legislation that has been flying around Washington, DC.

Part of making the "right" business decisions involves making appropriate choices in the myriad of tax matters that a business owner faces every day. Howard Kass will sort out some of the recent tax changes that have occurred and will present his top tax tips for small business owners, particularly the creative ones, in a light, informal but informative manner. His goals are to help you discover a diamond or two in the coal bin we know as the Internal Revenue Code and to help you minimize your tax burden.

Howard J. Kass has over 30 years experience serving the accounting and tax needs of both small businesses and individuals. Howard has worked with businesses representing many different industries including graphic arts, real estate, manufacturing, retail establishments, and many others. He is adept at the utilization of ownership structures such as C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, and LLCs.

In addition to his vast tax and accounting expertise, Howard boasts a creative streak, having been an avid photographer for nearly 40 years having traversed the path from black & white film photography to digital and has a particular interest in nature and wildlife photography.

Howard has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Kent State University.
